GREENWOOD
John William Rapp III, Greenwood, passed away on the morning of October 10, 2022. He was 68 years old. John was born in Indianapolis to his parents John W. Rapp Jr. and Kathleen (Deem) Rapp. John attended Southport High School as well as Manual High School in Indianapolis then studied at IVY Tech and completed his associates degree. John answered the call of this nation by serving in the United States Navy and after his period of faithful service, was honorably discharged. John was employed and retired from IBEW local 481.
John enjoyed reading and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to attend little league games whenever he was able to. He had a quick wit, always making those around him laugh. John was a board member of Franklin Township Little League for many years. The memories created will be cherished by those he leaves behind.
John is survived by his children Lesley Silva, Jonna (Travis) Reber, John IV (Michelle) Rapp, Adrienne (Barrett) Johnson, and Aaron Rapp; his grandchildren, Kyler, Vincent, Nolan, Calan, Tucker, Will and Sonja; siblings, Rita (Russ) Courtney, Anita (Mike) Hohmann, and Stephen Rapp; several nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wendy Rapp.
The family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday October 13, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in John’s honor to Johnson County Senior Services.
