Here’s the latest on I-69 construction in Johnson County

Johnson County drivers will experience some changes in traffic patterns this week in the Interstate 69 construction zone.

Roundabout construction will shift traffic at Waverly Park Road and Old State Road 37 south of State Road 144, and one southbound lane near State Road 144 will close Monday night as construction workers lift large beams into place for a future I-69 bridge over Bluff Creek, according to a weekly construction update from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The permanent looping ramp for northbound State Road 37 exiting onto County Line Road opened last week. The loop splits off from northbound State Road 37 traffic about a half mile south of the interchange, INDOT officials say.

In Marion County, traffic will shift on part of Southport Road west of State Road 37 this week following traffic signal construction at Wellingshire Boulevard and Belmont Avenue. The traffic signal will be activated late this month or early next month. Drivers can access Belmont Avenue along the west side of State Road 37 from Banta Road or Southport Road, INDOT officials say.

Epler Avenue is also closed west of Belmont Avenue, as construction trucks enter and exit a work zone, INDOT officials say.

In Morgan County, State Road 37 traffic will shift early this week and southbound traffic will shift midweek north of Martinsville as workers place large stones to control side-slope erosion. Full-time lane closures are expected to end this fall, as construction crews complete median cable barrier installation, drainage work and more finishing touches, INDOT officials say.
