Franklin College

Men’s XC second in conference

Led by a school-record 8K time of 25:24.6 from John Asplund, Franklin College took second in the men’s race during Saturday’s HCAC Championships at Bluffton. The Grizzlies had five runners in the top 20, led by Asplund’s fifth-place showing. Jack Sells (14th), Elliott Gough (15th), Riley Devening (19th) and Samuel Wilson (20th) rounded out the team scoring.

The women placed third, their best team finish since 2014. Haley Makowski was fifth, Ella Bashor 10th and Mallory Watson 17th for the Grizzlies.

Volleyball drops season finale

Closing out its fall on the road, Franklin College was swept by Defiance on Saturday, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22. Miranda Wilson and Kaitlyn Lavy had eight kills apiece for the Grizzlies (8-16, 2-7 HCAC), while Billie Jarrett had 23 assists and four aces.
