FRANKLIN
Richard Pierce Kirby, 78 of Franklin, passed away on November 7, 2022.
He was born on November 5, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ben and Mary Kirby. He married Gloria (Cearing) Kirby on February 10, 1968. She was preceded in passing on April 1, 1997. He is survived by children, Matt Kirby (Kimberlie) and Megan Everett (Dan) and grandchildren, Evan Kirby and Claire Everett. He was preceded in passing by his parents and wife, Gloria.
Richard was a 1962 graduate of Manual High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Richard was employed by Blue Cross-Blue Shield for over thirty years, working in various positions.
Richard enjoyed playing poker, golf, and riding his bike. He enjoyed watching football, IU Basketball, racing, Andy Griffith, and Seinfeld. He loved spending time with his grandkids.
Visitation for Richard will be Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, Franklin, Indiana. Rev. Brandon Jolley will conduct a Celebration of Richard ‘s life on Thursday, November 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside.
