Johnson County Commissioners seek board members

The Johnson County Board of Commissioners is seeking interested individuals to serve on the following boards with terms beginning on Jan. 1.

The following is a list of boards with openings and qualifications needed to apply.

Alcohol Beverage Commission Board: must be 21 years of age and older; resident of Johnson County for at least five years; and not convicted of a felony. One member, one-year term.

Board of Health: county resident; must list their political party; must be part of the following professions: physician, nurse, pharmacist, dentist, hospital administrator, social worker, health law attorney, school superintendent, veterinarian, engineer or environmental scientist. Two members, four-year term.

Buffer Zone City of Franklin: county resident residing in the City of Franklin Buffer Zone. One member, one-year term.

Buffer Zone Town of Edinburgh: county resident residing in the Town of Edinburgh Buffer Zone. One member, one-year term.

Convention, Visitor and Tourism Board: county resident or owner/executive level employee of a convention, visitor, or tourism business located in Johnson County. Three board members, two-year term.

Drainage Board: resident landowner in county who is knowledgeable about drainage. One member, three-year term.

Johnson County Impact Fee Review Board: county resident, must list employer’s information, must be a CPA, engineer or real estate agent. Three members, one-year term.

Johnson County Redevelopment Commission: county resident, a member of a Johnson County school board or a school corporation or an individual recommended to commissioners by a school board. One nonvoting member, two-year term.

Plan Commission: must list political party and reside in an unincorporated area or be a landowner with holdings in the unincorporated area. Two members, four-year term.

Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals: must list political party, be knowledgeable in the valuation of property and, if possible, be a certified level two or level three assessor-appraiser. Two members, one-year term.

Amity Fire Protection District Board: must have knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and must reside within Amity Fire Protection District and Franklin Township. One member, four-year term.

Bargersville Fire Protection District Board: must have knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and must reside within Bargersville Fire Protection District and White River Township. One member, four-year term.

Hensley Fire Protection District Board: must have knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and must reside within Hensley Fire Protection District and town of Trafalgar. One member, four-year term.

Needham Fire Protection District Board: must have knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and and must reside within Needham Fire Protection District. One member to represent Clark and Needham townships is sought for a four-year term.

Nineveh Fire Protection District Board: must have knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and must reside within Nineveh Fire Protection District and town of Prince’s Lakes.

White River Fire Protection District Board: must have knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to fire protection and and must reside within White River Fire Protection District. A member residing in the unincorporated area and in the city of Greenwood is sought for a four-year term.
