Waunetta June Magennis

Waunetta June Magennis, 94, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away on November 14, 2022, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Waunetta was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Irwin and Irene (Stottelmyer) Fischer, on May 16, 1928. She married James H. Magennis on June 26, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She worked as a Rural Carrier at Whiteland Post Office for 20 years. She was a lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary Post 252, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 6978, Moose Lodge 2079 and the Eastern Star.

Waunetta was preceded in death by her husband James Magennis, Parents, Irwin and Irene Fischer, Brothers-Russel, Runnels and Jack Fischer, Sister Dorthea Lambert, grandson Kyle Magennis and two great grandsons; Kashius Davis and Chase Ford.

Waunetta is survived by her children: Mike (Myla) Magennis, Patty (Roger) Ford, Peggy Bechtel, Donna (Kenny) Poole, Arlene (Kevin) Ballard, Tim (Terri) Magennis, Darla (Chester) Jandreau, 13 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation for Waunetta is scheduled for Monday, November 21st from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, Remembrance Hall, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. Funeral service will immediately follow Waunetta’s visitation beginning at 2:00 PM, with her place of rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
