Dale Wood, 67 of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday November 19, 2022, at Franklin Meadows. He was born November 29, 1954, in Franklin, IN to Robert Emerson Wood and Mary Jo (Lewis) Wood.
He was a 1973 graduate of Whiteland Community High School and attended Troy State University where he was a basketball scholarship athlete in Troy, Alabama.
Dale had been a mechanic at Pep Boys in Franklin.
He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his children Jennifer Wood Adams (Glenn) of Auburn, AL, Daniel Wood (Amanda) of Bargersville, IN, Troy Wood of Indianapolis, IN, Ashley Wood of Indianapolis, IN, Kelly Wood of Greenwood, IN and Katie Kyle of Franklin, IN, seventeen grandchildren, his mother Mary Jo (Lewis) Wood of Morgantown, IN, siblings Dan Wood (Brenda) of Greenwood, IN, Dave Wood (Debbie) of Greenwood, IN, Doug Wood of Whiteland, IN, Dewayne “Bobby” Wood of Indianapolis, IN, Dean Wood (Tammy) of Tampa, FL and Donna Ragsdale (Brad) of Shelbyville, IN and his former spouse Katherine (Thompson) Wood of Indianapolis, IN.
His father Robert Emerson Wood, a daughter Cori Wood and a brother Dana Wood preceded him in death.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Monday November 21, 2022, at 6PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.
