Karen Boggs

Karen Boggs formerly of Greenwood Indiana has passed away at the age of 86 at Compass Park Rehab in Franklin Indiana. Born May 3, 1936 in Mechanicsburg Ind., She grew up in Frankfort Indiana and graduated from Frankfort High School.

She and her husband, James A Boggs (deceased), enjoyed many years travelling the world and visiting some amazing places and meeting many people with a variety of backgrounds and life stories. She obtained BS and BA degrees from IUPUI and was a voracious reader. Even after losing most of her eyesight to a stroke a few years ago, she continued to consume the printed page through the Library of Congress and their talking books. Karen was extremely interested in science fiction and loved to discuss some of her favorite shows, The Curse of Oak Island, Skinwalker Ranch, Ancient Aliens and the like.

She was warm and caring with a wonderful sense of humor. For many years, she was very active with the youth groups at her church, Christ United Methodist, where many, many kids considered a second mom and confidant. She will greatly missed by her family and friends.

At her request there will be no services however donations to the National Library Service for the Blind would be greatly appreciated.

She was preceded in death by her husband James A. and son David J. Boggs.

She is survived by her son Robin (Debbie) Boggs and daughter Lisa Boggs Ashley (Miles), Daughter in law Amy Boggs, 3 grandchildren and their spouses, 2 young adult grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
