Johnson County Council seeks residents to serve on boards

The Johnson County Council is seeking interested individuals to serve on the county boards.

Here is a list of boards with openings and qualifications needed to apply:

Alcohol Beverage Commission Board: interested individuals must have been residents of Johnson County for the five years preceding their appointment; must be 21 years or older; and not convicted of a felony in the preceding 10 years unless the conviction has been expunged.

Board of Zoning Appeals Alternate: interested individuals must be a Johnson County resident.

Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals: interested individuals must be knowledgeable in the valuation of property and be a certified level two or level three assessor-appraiser.

Johnson County Park Board: interested individuals must be a resident landowner and must have knowledge of parks and recreation.

Johnson County Redevelopment Commission: interested individuals must be a resident of the county. Knowledge regarding redevelopment and land use is preferred.

Edinburgh Town Economic Development Board: interested individuals must be a resident of the county. Knowledge regarding redevelopment and land use is preferred.

Greenwood City Economic Development Board: interested individuals must be a resident of the City of Greenwood, employed in Greenwood, or owner of a business in Greenwood.

Greenwood Public Library Board: interested individuals must have resided in the library district for at least two (2) years immediately preceding the appointee’s appointment and must continue to reside in the library district during the term of the appointment.
