Franklin to host HOF meet Saturday

The 17th annual Hall of Fame Classic, one of the premier meets on the regular-season calendar, will take place Saturday morning at Franklin. The Indiana High School Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame hosts the annual meet, which will feature the Grizzly Cubs as well as teams from Bloomington North, Chesterton, Concord, Floyd Central, Greenfield-Central and Zionsville.

Mike Miles and Arlene McDonald will serve as the guest speakers at the luncheon. The meet will begin at 9 a.m.

Trojans dominate Dragons

Center Grove cruised to a 64-12 triumph over New Palestine on Wednesday. The Trojans got pins from Jack Greenwood (132 pounds), Silas Stits (145), Noah Clouser (170), Julian Weems (182) and Collin Carroll (220) as wins by technical fall from Reese Courtney (138) and Charlie LaRocca (113).

Grizzly Cubs fall to Falcons

Franklin dropped a dual meet with Mid-State Conference rival Perry Meridian on Tuesday, 53-24. The Grizzly Cubs got individual wins from Aiden Woods (106 pounds), Colton Stevens (132), Owen Trimpe (145) and Alex Leugers (182).

Bowling

Royals split with Perry

Alison Holden totaled a 392 and Abbey Hofmann added a 305 as Roncalli defeated Perry Meridian, 17-3, on Wednesday. The Royal boys fell to the Falcons by a similar 17-3 count despite a 383 total from Jordan Bauerle.

Franklin College

Women’s basketball comes up short

Franklin College took a 92-46 loss at No. 3 Transylvania on Wednesday evening. Lauryn Bates scored nine points to lead the Grizzlies (1-3, 0-1 HCAC), who got 11 players into the scoring column in all.
