Girls basketball

Trojans roll past Irish

Center Grove earned a 49-32 home win over Cathedral on Thursday. Audrey Annee led the way for the Trojans (5-4) with 16 points, followed by Ella Hobson with 10, Aubrie Booker with seven and both Savanna and Lilly Bischoff with six each.

Lancers fall at Cougars

Edinburgh suffered a 71-22 road loss to Class A No. 7 Trinity Lutheran. Gracie Crawhorn scored 12 points for the Lancers (3-6).

Royals prevail in OT

Heaven Thompson scored a career-high 23 points and hit the game-winner in overtime as Roncalli won at Heritage Christian, 64-61. Taylor Turk added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Royals (5-2), while Sydney Horton scored 10 and and Brennah Cerny nine. Claire Lindsey contributed seven boards and four steals.

Roncalli blanks Woodmen

Wins by fall from Peyton Schoettle, Will May, Bryce Lowery, James Dozier, Luke Hansen and Royce Deckard helped Roncalli roll to a 72-0 victory over Greenwood on Thursday.

Volleyball

CG’s Sabol competes in Florida

Center Grove junior Sophia Sabol competed last weekend at the AVP East Coast Championships, a prestigious beach volleyball tournament in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Sabol and partner Logan Bell, a Roncalli sophomore, placed 71st in the 18-and-under girls division.
