Morgantown State Road 252 work to resume this week

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors plans to resume work next week at the State Road 252 bridge over West Fork Crooked Creek in Morgan County. The bridge is just over a mile west of State Road 135 near Morgantown.

As early as today crews will be on-site to begin the removal of a concrete structure due to material issues that arose following initial installation earlier this year. The contractor will continue work throughout the winter as weather allows, with the goal of being ready for asphalt paving and switching traffic next spring, INDOT officials said in a construction update.

Temporary traffic signals will remain in place while work is in progress. Anticipated completion for the bridge replacement project is May of 2023, depending upon the weather and other factors, INDOT officials said.
