Dr. Edward Allen Shearls, 82, passed away peacefully November 19th, 2022 in his home with his wife, Carol, at his side. He was born November 2, 1940 in Burkesville, Kentucky, to Clyde E. and Thelma B. (Blythe) Shearls.
Ed graduated from Emmerich Manual High School. Served his country in the Air Force. Graduated from Indiana University with a PhD in Environmental Sciences.
He had a passion for travel, sports, arts, music and writing.
Ed is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughters Jaime (Shearls) (John) Surenkamp, Susan Nair, Christine Curd, Catherine Folger (Scott Freeland), Sherry (Matthew) Ross; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters Gaye Gentry-Dickey and Teresa (John) Phillippe; and Aunt Christine Sharp.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Monday, December 19th, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, 381 N. Bluff Rd., Greenwood, IN 46142. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Service 6:00.
