Warriors pick up road win

Whiteland rode a big second quarter to a 60-50 victory at Rushville on Wednesday. The Warriors (5-6), who outscored the Lions 21-7 in that period, were led by Addison Emberton’s 16 points and 15 from Gwen Higdon. Emma Piercy, Carly Vondielingen and Brooklyn Taylor added eight points apiece.


Royals defeat Panthers

Roncalli remained unbeaten in dual action with a 56-12 triumph at Bloomington South on Wednesday evening. The Royals (7-0) got wins from Blake Getz, Andrew McHugh, Alex Plahitko, Will May, Patrick McGinley, Braden Getz, Jackson McCurdy, Bryce Lowery, James Dozier, Luke Hansen and Zane Baker.

Grizzly Cubs top Cardinals

Franklin posted a 45-27 victory over Southport on Tuesday night. The Grizzly Cubs got victories from Aiden Woods, Isaiah Johnson, Luke Bechert, Owen Trimpe, Cory Fuller, Alex Leugers, Judah Wheeler, Jed Brown and Brody Stephens.

Women’s basketball wins at Olivet

Franklin College used a smothering defensive effort to pick up a 57-42 victory at Olivet on Wednesday. The Grizzlies (3-3), who held the Comets to 22.6% shooting, were led offensively by 12 points and eight rebounds from Georgia Hanauer and 10 points from Taylor Cooney.
