Christopher S. Quinn

GREENWOOD

Christopher S. Quinn, 49, of Greenwood, Indiana passed peacefully on December 7, 2022 in Greenwood after a 15 month battle with cancer. Chris was born on October 26, 1973 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Quentin and Marilyn Quinn. He married Jennifer Adams of Connersville, Indiana on May 9, 1998.

Chris was a physical education and health teacher. He started his teaching career at Bishop Chatard High School. He also taught at Irvington Middle School, John R. Wooden Middle School in Martinsville, also at Southport High School. Included in his teaching he was a coach at each school. At Bishop Chatard he was an assistant coach of the 2003 Class 3A Boys State Championship basketball team. He was elevated to head coach in 2005 – 2012 achieving the best winning percentage at that time. He was also the boys and girls varsity golf coach, the boys winning a city championship and the girls winning a city championship and a sectional championship. At Martinsville High School he was an assistant varsity boys basketball coach and varsity boys golf team. He also served as the assistant girls varsity basketball coach. At Southport High School he was the assistant girls varsity basketball coach and coach for girls and boys varsity golf teams.

Chris attended Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic grade school. Chris graduated from Roncalli High School in 1992 where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He was named all city baseball pitcher his senior year. He graduated from IUPUI in 1999.

Chris was a bigger than life fan of Notre Dame football. He was gifted on his 40th birthday by participating in the ND Fantasy Football camp. He was also a fan of IU Basketball, Indy 500, Country and Rock concerts and just hanging around with his friends at local establishments.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Jennifer: parents, Quentin and Marilyn Quinn; brother; Jeff Quinn; nephew, Conner Quinn; niece, Alex Quinn. His mother-in-law, Joyce Adams; brother-in-law, Ryan Adams; and his furry buddy, Toby.

Deceased family members include grandparents, Joe and Lena Quinn, father-in-law, John Adams and his first furry friend, Max.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saints Francis &Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, IN.

Chris will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
