Prusiecki, Clark tops at county

Center Grove’s Mia Prusiecki and Franklin’s Austin Clark finished atop the leaderboard Friday night as the Johnson County swimming and diving meet got underway with the 1-meter diving competition.

Prusiecki, the reigning state champion, won on the girls side with a meet-record score of 543.95, comfortably ahead of Indian Creek’s Ella Taylor (471.10) and Franklin’s Camy Quiggins (413.35). Clark topped the boys with 333.85 points, while Grizzly Cub teammate Matt Payne was second (278.15).

The swimming portion of the meet will take place today beginning at 9 a.m.

Girls basketball

Braves dominate Mustangs

Faith Wiseman had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to help Class 3A No. 3 Indian Creek roll to a 62-18 win at Edgewood on Friday evening. Lauren Foster added 15 points and Ayla Lollar 12 for the Braves (12-0, 5-0 WIC).

Royals rout Brebeuf

Roncalli stayed unbeaten in Circle City Conference play with a 71-45 win at Brebeuf Jesuit. Claire Lindsey had a game-high 21 points for the Royals (8-3, 3-0), while Sydney Horton added 15.

Boys basketball

Grizzly Cubs fall to Hornets

Franklin dropped a 64-58 road tilt against Beech Grove on Friday. Micah Davis had 23 points and Wyatt Nickleson 14 for the Grizzly Cubs (3-4).
