Greenwood mall shooting update set today; watch live at 11

Greenwood Police Department and the FBI are planning a joint press conference today to update the public on the investigation into the Greenwood Park Mall mass shooting.

The press conference is being held at 11 a.m. and will be streamed live by the Daily Journal on Facebook. The press conference can be watched here: facebook.com/events/851687336106374.

The press conference is expected to reveal new information about the case and various search warrants that have been executed since the last briefing on the July 17th incident.

Five people were shot during the shooting, three of which are deceased. Deceased victims are Victor Gomez, 30, and husband and wife Pedro Pineda, 56, and Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37, all of Indianapolis.

Elisjsaha Dicken, 22, of Seymour, was lawfully carrying a gun and intervened by shooting the gunman, Jonathan Douglas Sapirman, 20, of Greenwood, before more lives could be taken. Because of Dicken’s intervention, lives were saved, police say.
