INDIANAPOLIS
Donald Eugene Young, 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Monday, December 19, 2022. He was born on Monday, March 25, 1929, to the late Claude and Ila (Dean) Young in a home in rural northern Johnson county.
Donald grew up in Clark Township on a dairy farm. He came from a lifetime of farmers and when he returned from the Air Force he continued farming.
Donald married Mary Alice Heeringa on March 18, 1956, and together they established The Young Farm (Rustic Ridge) in Moral township, Shelby county, Indiana in 1963.
Donald is survived by his children, Mike (Kim) Young, Donna (Steve) Tresslar, Karen (Mike) Heck, John (Teri) Young; grandchildren, Chad (Stephanie) Voris, Jennifer (Justin) Harbour, David (Laura) Tresslar, Amanda (Jarrod) Sestak; and great grandchildren, Mia, Charlotte, Josey, Jade, Hudson and a baby girl due in April 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Young; and siblings, Gerald, Oris, Pete, Roberta, and Norma; and great granddaughter, Jaycee.
Visitation is Thursday, December 29, 2022, 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.
Burial to immediately follow at Rocklane Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
