90, passed away on December 22, 2022. Margaret was born to Clarence &Freda (Gourley) McCarty in Providence, IN on June 23, 1932. In 1949, she married Norman W Hawkins and together they started Hawkins Cabinet Company in Indianapolis. Margaret pursued a career in health care as administrator of a nursing home and later as an LPN at Community Hospital South. She was a good friend to many people and was dearly loved by friends and family. She will be sadly missed.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy Brown, as well as her grandson, Sgt. Gary Michael Henry, Indiana National Guard/ Captain, Indianapolis Fire Dept. She is survived by her daughters; Mara Jo (Rick) Castor and Connie (David) Miller, a twin sister (Marjorie Harper), several half-siblings; grandchildren, Jennifer Henry, Brian (Paula) Miller, Kelly (Jeff) Vaughan; step-grandchildren, Stephanie (Jett) Ewing and John (Summer) Castor; great grandchildren; Landon, Nathan, Brenna, Cason, Kaelyn, Shaylee, Dalon, Shelby, Gavin, Ashtyn as well as several step greats and great great grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tunnels 2 Towers or The Gary Sinise Foundation.
