The first baby born to Johnson County residents was born at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.
The baby, Meara Kathleen Walsh, was born to parents Skylar and Evan Walsh at 8:38 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Hospital officials didn’t release the information until Wednesday, so previous reporting cited a baby born at 10:01 a.m. Jan. 1 at Community Hospital South as the first born to Johnson County residents in 2023.
Meara was born a healthy eight pounds and 1.8 ounces and measured 19 ½ inches at the time of delivery, hospital spokesperson Joe Stuteville said in an email.
