Prosecutors have dismissed child sex crime charges for a Greenwood man who was accused of molesting a teenage girl.

Johnson County Superior Court 2 Judge Peter Nugent granted a motion from prosecutors to dismiss the criminal charge levied against Jared Rohr Jones, 39, on Jan. 6. He was charged with child molestation as a Level 1 felony in July 2021 after a teen accused him of molesting her in 2020.

The case against Jones was dismissed in the interest of justice. The reasons for the dismissal are confidential, but they prevent further prosecution, said Carrie Miles, chief of the Sex/Domestic Violence Crimes Division at the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office.
