Three Greenwood residents charged in federal drug conspiracy

Three Greenwood residents are facing federal charges after prosecutors say they took part in a conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl.

Elijiah “Eli” Conn, Deondre “Dre” Perry and Brooke Woods are charged with multiple counts of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. Perry was additionally charged with multiple counts of possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime. All the charges were filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana last year.

All of the charges stem from grand jury indictments issued last year. Federal prosecutors allege Conn, Perry and Woods were part of a drug trafficking organization with three other co-conspirators — Brittina Jones, George Muncy and Rhonda Muncy — from Spring 2021 through June 2, 2022. The goal was to distribute 100 grams of a substance containing traces of fentanyl and at least 400 grams of fentanyl itself, according to court documents

The drug trafficking organization allegedly distributed the fentanyl-containing drugs in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Perry was allegedly the leader of the operation, and supervised the distribution with assistance from Woods, who he lived with, court documents say.

As part of the conspiracy, Conn, Jones, George Muncy and Rhonda Muncy all allegedly received the drugs and help distribute them. Conn, also known as “Whiteboy Eli,” allegedly sold the pills to customers on his own, and also did so at the direction of Perry, U.S. Attorneys allege.

In order to distribute the drugs, all six defendants allegedly communicated via text. Perry allegedly directed his co-conspirators to count pills, distribute them and to bring them to him. In some instances, Perry allegedly conducted the sales himself, court documents show.

Woods was allegedly directed by Perry to bring drugs to some of his customers. In one set of messages from February, she allegedly asked how much 5,000 fentanyl pills would cost on behalf of a customer, according to court documents.

During a conversation in early May, Conn allegedly agreed to give someone 100 fentanyl pills. Later that month, he allegedly distributed fentanyl pills to a customer in Greenwood, according to court documents.

Prosecutors also allege that on June 1, Perry and Woods had more than 1,000 grams of fentanyl-containing drugs at their Greenwood residence. They also allegedly had a handgun on site to protect both themselves and the drugs, court documents show.

The three other alleged co-conspirators — Jones, George Muncy and Rhonda Muncy — were also charged for their alleged roles.
