Girls basketball

Braves suffer first defeat

Class 3A No. 2 Indian Creek fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 46-43 home loss against Westfield. Faith Wiseman scored 16 points and Lauren Foster 12 for the Braves (18-1), who also got 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists from Abby Fleetwood.

Trojans edge Owls

Center Grove ran its win streak to 12 games in a row by edging Seymour, 37-35. Savanna Bischoff scored 12 points for the Trojans (16-4), while Rachel Wirts contributed 10 and Audrey Annee had eight.

Lancers suffer road defeat

Edinburgh lost at Morristown, 37-16. The Lancers (6-13) were led by Kenna Streeval with five points and Gracie Crawhorn with four.

Men’s basketball smothers Beavers

Franklin College held Bluffton to 28% shooting in a 59-45 road win on Saturday. Ryan Bostic had 15 points for the Grizzlies (9-6, 5-3 HCAC) and was joined in double figures by Lynn King (12 points) and Cody Samples (11).

Women’s basketball falls at Bluffton

Jordan Coon scored 16 points, but Franklin College came up on the short end of a 72-56 score at Bluffton. CiCi Bailey added nine points and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies (6-9, 3-4 HCAC).
