Kathleen “Kathee” M. (Williams) Pruitt

Kathleen “Kathee” M. (Williams) Pruitt, 76, of Morgantown, IN passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN. She was born September 14, 1946, at Coleman Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to Gerald and Harriet (Reynolds) Williams. She married Edwin “Ed” L. Pruitt on August 14, 1964, at the Smith Valley E.U.B Church in Smith Valley, Greenwood, IN, he survives.

She was a 1964 graduate of Center Grove High School.

Kathee started her banking career at the Bargersville State Bank, later becoming Citizens and Fifth Third Bank, then served at Heartland Community Bank from 1999 until her retirement in 2012 as Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager.

She also worked and farmed alongside her husband Ed for many years and helping him at the Johnson County Fair. Kathee was active with her children growing up with 4-H. She was the first lady to enter the Johnson County Fair tractor pulling competition.

Kathee enjoyed farming, flowers, spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching golf and attending basketball games.

Survivors include her husband Edwin L. “Ed” Pruitt of Morgantown, IN, her children Michael D. Pruitt (Angela) of Bargersville, IN, Deborah A. Abel (Dan) of Trafalgar, IN and Mark D. Pruitt (Misty) of Nineveh, IN, her grandchildren Ashley Pruitt Jewell (Jake) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Robert L. Pruitt (fiancé Mikayla Yohe) of Lafayette, IN, Joshua Pruitt (Jessica) of Franklin, IN, Alyssa Pruitt of Nineveh, IN, Morgan Pruitt of Bargersville, IN, Ellie Abel Deckling (Cam) of Trafalgar, IN and Tim Abel (Elly) of Trafalgar, IN, great-grandchildren Brantley Pruitt, Hazel Pruitt and Sloane Deckling, siblings Steven Williams (Sherry) of New Albany, IN, Nicole Springer (Evan) of Greenwood, IN and Jon M. Williams (Mary) of Port Charlotte, FL.

Her parents and a grandson Greg Young preceded her in death.

Pastor Steve Fair will conduct a service on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 2PM until 7PM at the mortuary.
