Trojans top Grizzly Cubs

Center Grove wrapped up its regular season with a 101-82 victory at Franklin on Thursday. The Trojans won the medley and 200 freestyle relays and got individual wins from Henry Lyness (200 IM, 100 freestyle), Sam Smith (200 free), Evan Hernandez (50 free), Aleks Parsetich (500 free) and Max Hite (100 backstroke). The Grizzly Cubs took the 400 free relay and got first-place efforts from Isaac Layton (100 butterfly) and Aleksandr Ries (100 breaststroke).

Braves cruise to road win

Class 3A No. 4 Indian Creek had little trouble closing out a perfect Western Indiana Conference season with a 60-24 win at South Putnam on Thursday. Faith Wiseman had 21 points for the Braves (22-1, 10-0), while Lauren Foster added 18 points and five assists.

Royals throttle Bull Dogs

Claire Lindsey and Sydney Horton each scored 15 points to lead host Roncalli to a 63-41 win over Columbus North. Sara Kosko added 12 points for the Royals (18-4).

Franklin College

Men’s basketball wins fifth straight

Franklin College ran a win streak to five games for the first time in three years, picking up a 73-67 victory at Earlham on Thursday. Cody Samples had 16 points for the Grizzlies (12-6, 8-3 HCAC), while Lynn King totaled 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Carter Crowe chipped in 10 points and Ryan Bostic had five steals in the win.

Women’s basketball routs Quakers

Led by three scorers in double figures, Franklin College rolled to a 69-45 road win over Earlham. Taylor Cooney scored a game-high 16 points for the Grizzlies (8-9, 6-5 HCAC), who won their third game in a row. CiCi Bailey had 14 points and seven rebounds, while Sarah O’Day scored 10 points and Georgia Hanauer added eight.
