Johnson Memorial Health lifting mask requirement for most visitors

Masks will no longer be required aside from specific circumstances at Johnson Memorial Health facilities.

Effective today, masks will only be required to be worn while visiting a patient with a communicable disease, including COVID-19 and influenza, or as requested by a patient, according to JMH’s updated visitor policy.

People will continue to be screened for COVID symptoms daily at the hospital’s main entrance and visitors who have tested positive in the past 10 days are not permitted to enter the hospital unless they’re being admitted for COVID treatment, the policy says.

People who are visiting patients with COVID must be 18 or older and must wear a provided N95 or KN95 mask during the entire visit. Other masks are not permitted, the policy says.

JMH officials ask that visitors be respectful of the community’s health and will continue to ask anyone refusing to follow masking, visitation, and other safety protocols to leave the facility, the policy says.
