USPS to host hiring fair in Greenwood on Saturday

The U.S. Postal Service will be hosting a hiring fair this weekend in Greenwood to fill open positions in the Indianapolis area.

The hiring workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Greenwood Package Sorting Annex, 800 Commerce Parkway West Drive, Suite A, Greenwood. Postal officials are looking for committed and motivated individuals to join them in their mission of service to local communities and the nation, USPS officials said in a news release.

“As part of our innovative and bold 10-year plan, Delivering for America, the postal service is focused on building a more stable and empowered workforce,” officials said. “Our employees are our greatest asset and we are investing in our new employees by providing robust training and on-the-job support.”

Postal officials are hiring for immediate positions in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Morgan, Marion, Rush and Shelby counties. For Johnson County, positions are available in Greenwood and Franklin, along with most other post offices within the county, according to the USPS.

Open positions include tractor-trailer operators, rural carrier associates, automotive technicians, custodial laborers and more. Starting pay ranges are up to $30.33 per hour, postal officials say.

USPS personnel will be on site this weekend to answer questions about the available positions and to provide additional information.

Applications are accepted online only at usps.com/careers. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays and have acceptable driving records, according to the USPS.

Interested parties are also encouraged to see online job postings for full details. Postings are updated by the USPS frequently, officials say.
