Softball sweeps Quakers

Franklin College celebrated its home debut with 5-1 and 4-3 victories over Wilmington (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon. Eriana Wagner hit a two-run homer and Molly Wallace drove in two runs with a double in the opener for the Grizzlies, who improved to 6-0 on the young season.

Baseball bounces back, wins nightcap

After dropping a 14-12 slugfest in the front half of its Saturday doubleheader against Hope, Franklin College held on for a 5-4 triumph in the second game. Noah Wood hit a three-run homer in the nightcap for the Grizzlies (4-2) and also scored the eventual winning run on a seventh-inning wild pitch.

Tennis splits to open spring

Franklin College began its spring season on Saturday with a 9-0 shutout win over Kaskakia before falling to Greenville by the same score. Nathan Jarboe and Owen Pickerill won in the top two singles spots for the Grizzlies while also teaming up for a victory at No. 1 doubles.
