James H. “Jim” Wertzberger

FRANKLIN

James H. “Jim” Wertzberger, 87 passed away at his daughters’ residence on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Danville, Indiana. He was a longtime resident of Franklin, Indiana.

He was born on August 11, 1935 in Rochester, Indiana to Howard Ream and Kathleen Elizabeth (Raymer) Wertzberger. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Kubacki (Joe) of Danville; son, Scott Douglas Wertzberger of Franklin; three grandchildren, Sara Frizzell (Nason), Mac Kubacki and Jackson Kubacki; and four great-grandchildren, Alyson, Harper, Rowan and Ferris. He was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Joe Wertzberger; daughter, Marcy Wertzberger and grandson, Matthew Angel.

Jim was a graduate of Rochester High School and Purdue University, receiving his degree in Pharmacy.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Jim was the co-owner and co-operator of Greenwood Honda; Greenwood Storage and Henderson Drugs in Franklin for many years with his brother, Joe.

He attended Clayton Christian Church in Clayton, Indiana. He was a member of RHO CHI Pharmaceutical Fraternity; Franklin Elks Lodge No. 1818 and Franklin American Legion Post No. 205.

Jim enjoyed his monthly outings with his friends from Grimmer-Schmidt. He was an avid NASCAR and Formula One racing fan. He was a Chicago Cubs fan. Jim enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and was a Purdue Football and Basketball fan.

Nathan Robinson will conduct a celebration of Jim’s life on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Tuesday, March 14th from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be conducted at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
