Kane A. Grudowski

Kane A. Grudowski, age 22, passed away all too soon on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 after sustaining injuries from an automobile accident. He was a resident of Franklin.

Kane was born on September 20, 2000 in Camp Pendleton, California. He was a 2019 graduate of Franklin Community High School and went on to proudly serve as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Aircraft Handler for the United States Navy on the USS Nimitz from 2019 to 2022. While serving, he recorded over ten thousand nautical miles and was decorated with the Navy “E” Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Sea Service Deployment. Kane returned home after receiving his honorable discharge on October 24, 2022.

Kane was employed at Interstate Warehouse in Franklin as a Warehouse Worker since returning from the Navy. He enjoyed the outdoors by camping, fishing and driving his big 4-wheel drive truck. Kane was a fan of Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey, Pittsburgh Steelers Football and the Los Angeles Lakers. He will be remembered for his love of family, friends and his dog, Atlas.

Kane is survived by his parents, Scott & Heather Grudowski of Morgantown; girlfriend, Julie Gadberry of Franklin; siblings, Mason Hertz, Daren Grudowski, Mitchell Thompson, Makayla Thompson, Ethan Grudowski and Marissa Grudowski; grandparents, Mike Powell of California, Bill & Donna Grudowski of Pittsburgh and Doug & Karen “Gigi” Volpp of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Christine Moore.

The Rev. John Parsley will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be presented by the United States Navy and the Martinsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guards.
