Franklin College is asking donors to mark their calendars for the school’s annual Day of Giving Challenge.
The challenge, titled #GivetoGRIZ, will be a 24-hour fundraising drive taking place on April 12. Money raised during the drive will support the Franklin Fund, which college administrators can pull from to address immediate needs. Donors can also specify an area they’d like to fund, including student scholarships and financial support, engaged learning, diversity, equity and inclusion, or faculty and programmatic support, according to a Franklin College news release.
College officials want to raise a combined $225,000 from at least 1,000 donors during the drive. Last year was the college’s most successful giving day since the tradition started in 2013, as 1,228 donors combined to raise $298,840. The college will hold multiple events as part of the Day of Giving Challenge.
Coffee with college faculty and staff members will be held at Main and Madison Market Café and the campus will host a video shoot including students, faculty and staff, which will appear on social media platforms and alumni.franklincollege.edu. People can also listen to President Kerry Prather on KORN Country (100.3 FM) that day or have lunch with Pulliam School of Journalism faculty members John Krull and Joel Cramer via Zoom, according to the release.
Other regional gatherings will take place in Franklin and Indianapolis. People who want to host one of their own can contact Jill Bode, the college’s director of annual giving and stewardship, by emailing [email protected]. Donors can take part in the action online at franklincollege.edu or on the school’s social media platforms, the release says.
