Michael Carroll Bridges

FRANKLIN

Michael Carroll Bridges, 69, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin.

He was born on April 3, 1953 in Franklin, Indiana to Raymond Carroll and Jeannetta (Henderson) Bridges. Mike is survived by children, Beverly Canter (Tim) of Indianapolis; Christopher Bridges (Jamie) of Decatur County and Raymond “Marty” Bridges (Rebecca) of Franklin, Indiana; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren and companion, Sheila Bridges, and sister Patricia Schmidt (Steve) of Carmel.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, daughter, Stephanie Moffett and great-grandson, Brooks Timothy Canter.

Mike graduated in 1971 from Franklin Community High School and attended Northeastern Oklahoma A &M where he received a scholarship to play football.

He was employed by Public Service as a Lineman for seven years. He worked many years in construction and maintenance before taking a huge leap starting his own business in painting &texturing. One of his biggest accomplishments in life that unfortunately lasted for a short period of time, before being diagnosed with throat cancer in 2002.

A true “Warrior” is just an understatement on how much will power it took him to overcome the battle and defeat the odds that were standing against him. Only given eight short months.

Twenty-One years later, has led us to cherish the times that the Lord allowed him to continue to be a loving father and amazing grandfather that has only wanted the best for them all.

He really enjoyed seeing his children and grandchildren accomplish many of their own personal goals in life, which drove him to continue to fight through many other adversities he had faced.

He was able to witness his oldest grandsons (Jason, Dylan, Zachary, Jordan &Nick) go from baby boys to men which have all accomplished many goals in life that they have set for themselves.

He truly loved watching his grandson Michael play basketball, Wyatt play baseball, Isaiah play football, Madison sing/play guitar, Harper being a true artist just like him &Leo taking his first steps.

He will continue to watch over them all while holding his great-grandson “Brooksy” in his arms.

He really enjoyed long motorcycle rides through God’s country.

He was a sports fanatic that loved to watch Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Mickey Mantle &Cal Ripken Jr.

An avid Colts fan during the Peyton Manning era “Omaha!!”

He highly respected Peyton for what he did for the state of Indiana, especially the children.

Music was a really huge part of his life.

He loved to share stories about being a musician for a local band in the early 80s “Mobius Strip” playing the keyboards / organ. His favorite song on the album was “I’m On The Inside”

His message for everyone that reads this

“Show LOVE towards one another so we can get our country back to where it once was”
