Brian Anthony Lamphire

FRANKLIN, IN.

Brian Anthony Lamphire, 59 of Franklin, IN peacefully passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his wife and daughter.

He was born December 27, 1963, in Martinsville, IN to Francis Anthony Lamphire and Mary Kay (Crafton) Pryor. Brian married the love his life, Carie R. (Higginbotham) Lamphire on January 15, 2005 in Franklin, IN, she survives.

Brian was a 1982 graduate of Southwestern High School in Shelbyville, IN where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America.

He worked for several years in Shelby County for farmers before serving in the United States Air Force. When he returned home, he joined the City of Franklin in 1985 as a firefighter. Brian worked for the City of Franklin for over 30 years in multiple capacities as a firefighter, reserve police officer, dispatch supervisor and in the planning department.

Brian loved hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time at home with his family and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years Carie R. (Higginbotham)( Lamphire of Franklin, IN, his children Ryan A. Lamphire of Nineveh, IN, Nathaniel E. Jones and Haley R. “Dakota” Lamphire of Franklin, IN, his mother Mary Kay (Crafton) Pryor of Franklin, IN, a sister Toni (Keely) Walden of Franklin, IN, father in law and mother in law Jim and Sandy (Wells) Higginbotham of Franklin, IN, his grandchildren Madison, Zane and Jensen, and several nieces and nephews.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Francis Anthony Lamphire and sister Leann Lamphire.

Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service on Thursday March 30, 2023, at 6:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call from 4PM until service time Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers as the family is requesting in Brian’s name be made to the Franklin FFA Alumni, P.O. Box 757 Franklin, IN 46131.
