Wings Etc to open Greenwood location Tuesday

Wings Etc. will open its second Johnson County location Tuesday.

The burgers, wings and beer sports bar will have its ribbon cutting 11 a.m. Tuesday in the new building at 1259 N. State Road 135 Suite A in Greenwood, just south of County Line Road. The nationwide chain restaurant, headquartered in Fort Wayne, also has a location in Franklin, at 2239 Morton Street. The ribbon cutting will include restaurant officials, members of Aspire Economic Development and Chamber Alliance staff, according to Aspire Johnson County’s website.

The chain, founded in 1994, has more than 80 locations throughout the Midwest and South. Menu features include things like nachos, crispy fish tacos, jalapeño-bacon burgers, buffalo wings offered with 16 different sauces and pork tenderloins, according to the store’s menu.

The store will also include 20 beers on tap, according to a Wings Etc. news release.

The 7,000-square-foot restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant will help bolster a growing community, said Byron Mudd, District Manager for Karmah Group, a multi-unit franchise group in Indiana.

“Greenwood is a thriving area,” Mudd said in the release. “There are many businesses out there, and it’s an up-and-coming community that is growing and expanding. We’re excited to be a part of that.”
