Susan K. Wheeler, 76 of Morgantown, IN, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on April 2, 2023, at the Franciscan Hospice House, Indianapolis. She was born on July 17, 1946, in Indianapolis and was the daughter of the late Harold and Florence (Weaver) Scaggs. She resided most of her life in Morgantown and was a previous resident of Indianapolis, Greenwood and Trafalgar.

She was married for 41 years to Edward Wheeler, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Christopher Nordhoff (Christian VanHoozer) and Craig (Heidi) Nordhoff all of Indianapolis, IN; two stepsons, Byron Wheeler (Anna Bauer) of Indianapolis, IN and Curt (Cari) Wheeler of Columbus, IN, two grandchildren, Emily and Carson Nordhoff of Indianapolis, IN and many extended family and friends; and her pet Scotties Dolly and Sugar.

Prior to retirement, she was employed for about 12 years each at Wheeler Corporation and the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office, where she received statewide honors for her exemplary contributions.

She touched many lives through her kind, funny and generous spirit. An avid reader, she also adored her Scottie dogs and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, college basketball, numerous motorcycle trips near and far with Ed and her Harley friends, spoiling her grandchildren, and especially spending time with her family. She attended Southport High School.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 6, from 4-7 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Pastor Chris Page will conduct a service on Friday, April 7, at 11 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
