Grizzly Cubs sweep tri-meet

Franklin’s boys and girls were both victorious in a three-way meet against East Central and Shelbyville on Tuesday night, with the boys topping the runner-up Trojans 91-60 and the girls earning a narrow 82-80 win.

The Grizzly Cub boys eked out wins in the 4×100 and 4×800 relays and got individual first-place finishes from J.D. Sever (110 and 300 hurdles), Ty Murphy (800 and 1,600 meters), Dylan Beverly (100 and high jump), Carson Sommers (pole vault) and Coen Houston (shot put). The girls got winning efforts from Emma Bertel (discus and shot put), Aubrey Runyon (100 and 300 hurdles), Morgan Sandrock (high jump) and Amelia Tisdale (3,200).

Woodmen fall to Marauders

Greenwood came up short against Mt. Vernon on Tuesday night. Event winners for the Woodmen boys were William Riley (100 and 200 meters), Alexander Kramer (shot put) and the 4×800 relay team. Taking first for the girls were Emma Gardner (discus and shot put), Amy Luttrell (long jump), Makena Cruse (800), Alayna Rees-Terhune (400) and the 4×800 relay.

Royals take Covenant in three

Andrew Gallagher had seven kills as Roncalli rolled to a 25-9, 25-15, 25-7 win at Covenant Christian on Wednesday. Jacob Irmer had three aces and 11 digs for the Royals (10-2).

Franklin sweeps Ritter

Franklin coasted past Cardinal Ritter on Tuesday night, 25-14, 25-11, 25-20. Chase Alyea and Zach Newton paced the Grizzly Cub offense with 10 and nine kills, respectively, while Charlie Sanders had 26 assists and Kaden Baltimore collected 22 digs.
