Franklin College holds record fundraiser

Franklin College raised more than $300,000 for student aid Wednesday during its most successful day of giving ever.

The 11th annual #GivetoGRIZ challenge collected $308,584 from 1,157 donors, exceeding the goal college officials had of $225,000 from 1,000 donors. The money will go to the Franklin Fund, which provides financial support for students. Almost all Franklin College students receive some sort of financial aid, according to a Franklin College news release.

Elwood Staffing, a Franklin employment agency and RepuCare, an Indianapolis-based employment agency served as major sponsors for the drive. People who missed the day of giving can still contribute to the Franklin Fund and have until June 30 to do so within the current fiscal year. Prospective donors can visit franklincollege.edu/give or call 317-738-8040.

The Day of Giving will help Franklin College significantly, President Kerry Prather said in the release.

“The outpouring of support during #GivetoGRIZ is a resounding vote of confidence in the work and future of Franklin College,” Prather said. “Donor support is critical to continuing our exciting momentum and sustaining our mission for generations to come.”
