Bieker, Lancers thump Chargers

MacKenzie Bieker hit three home runs and drove in seven runs to lead Edinburgh to an 11-0 home win over North Decatur on Wednesday. Gracie Crawhorn had three hits and two RBIs in support of Bieker, who struck out 13 in earning the pitching win for the Lancers (5-5, 3-1 Mid-Hoosier).

Trojans prevail in extra frame

Class 4A No. 2 Center Grove scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge Franklin Central, 7-6. Riley Fuhr was the winning pitcher for the Trojans (13-1).

Irish knock off Center Grove

Class 4A No. 1 Center Grove fell from the ranks of the unbeaten on Wednesday with a 7-1 loss at sixth-ranked Cathedral. The Trojans (11-1) managed just four hits on the evening.

Edinburgh comes up short

Edinburgh lost to North Decatur, 17-1. Jared Myers had two hits for the Lancers (1-8, 0-5 Mid-Hoosier), who got their lone run from Jarrett Turner.

Girls tennis

Braves win conference tilt

Indian Creek topped visiting Edgewood, 4-1, on Wednesday. Lauren Lewis, Reese Tunell and Kylie Lemmon were all straight-set singles winners for the Braves (5-2, 3-1 WIC), while Lanie Swanson and Alexa Sichting added a point at second doubles.

Lancers win four-way match

Edinburgh posted a team score of 182 to defeat Hauser, Waldron and South Decatur on Wednesday. Max Blandford and Mason Calhoun led the Lancers with respective scores of 42 and 43; Wyatt Burton (48) and Gabe Bennett (49) rounded out the scoring.
