Warriors earn walk-off win

Emma Piercy had four hits and the game-winning RBI in the eighth inning as Whiteland beat Martinsville on Wednesday, 9-8. Maddy Myers hit a three-run homer for the Warriors (8-6, 5-3 Mid-Statate), while Halle Nett drove in three runs and Josslyn Harbert totaled three hits.

Franklin rally comes up short

Down by seven heading into the bottom of the sixth, Franklin mounted a furious comeback bid but wound up on the losing end of a 7-5 score against Class 4A No. 8 Mooresville on Wednesday. Max Clark was 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs and two runs scored for the Grizzly Cubs (9-7, 3-4 Mid-State), who also got runs batted in from Trevor Launonen and Pryce Rucker.

Whiteland hammers Martinsville

Whiteland finished off a home-and-home sweep of Martinsville with a 13-3 triumph. Winning pitcher Drew Helton drove in three runs for the Warriors (6-6, 5-3 Mid-State), while Maalik Perkins and Brayden Roy each knocked in a pair. Perkins had three hits, including a triple, and two stolen bases.

Warriors clip Flashes

A dramatic doubles sweep enabled Whiteland to claim a 3-2 win over Franklin Central. Both the No. 1 duo of Kinsey Shipp and Cathy Nguyen and the No. 2 pair of Sara Ullrich and Rowen Starns earned three-set victories for the Warriors (7-6), while Candace Stephenson was a winner at second singles.

Trojans edged by Wildcats

No. 15 Center Grove took a close 3-2 defeat against ninth-ranked North on Wednesday. The Trojans’ two points both came at doubles, with Ava Beecher and Lauren Dick winning in the No. 1 spot and Anna Runkle and Peri Small cruising at No. 2.

Lancers get past Spartans

Edinburgh picked up a 4-1 win over Southwestern. Jessica Walsh, Zoey Sida and Izzy Richardson swept the singles points for the Lancers, who also got a victory from Mia Dodson and Lily Turner at second doubles.

Grizzly Cubs sweep Pioneers

Eighth-ranked Franklin kept its unbeaten season going with a 5-0 victory over Mooresville. The Grizzly Cubs took all five matches in straight sets.

Will Smith led the way with a 39 as Whiteland posted a 178-187 victory over Triton Central at The Legends on Wednesday.
