FESTIVAL OF SHORT PLAYS, 8 a.m. April 27-29, 2 p.m. April 30, Théâtre Margot in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts, Franklin College campus

As Franklin College students in the Directing II class finish up their class project, they’ll actually be taking the stage and directors and actors. Their final class project is a series of performances, with an eclectic mix of styles and genres unfolding in four short plays. Those plays include “The Chocolate Affair,” “After the Beep,” “I’m Not Stupid” and “Matterhorn.”

SPRING SOCIAL BLOCK PARTY, 6-10 p.m., April 29, Madison Avenue north of Main Street, Greenwood

With the weather getting nicer and spring in full swing, local residents are invited to get together for a block party in Old Town Greenwood. Hoosier Brewing Co., Planetary Brewing Co. and Restore Old Town Greenwood have joined forces for an evening of community, food, music and fun.

The event will feature live music from Josh Hause, Gabe Kite and Straight Up Chumps. Local businesses from the downtown Greenwood area will be on hand serving food, beverages and showing off what they have to offer. The block party is free to attend and open to the public
