Hollis Burton

Hollis Burton, 89 of Franklin, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023.

He was born on October 9, 1933 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Riley and Lydia (Gaskin) Burton. Hollis is survived by children, Vicki Buck (David), Kim VanMeter and Dennis Burton; grandchildren, Crissy Isley, Chad VanMeter (Lexi), Candy Buck and Chris Buck (Alana) and great-grandchildren, Breanna Isley, Brayden Isley, Conner Buck and Caitlyn Buck. He was preceded in passing by his parents; siblings, Lucian, Ollie, Billy, Edna, Tippie, Lenard, Elvis and Ava and son-in-law, Tony VanMeter.

Hollis attended school in Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a self-employed Carpenter. After retirement, he was employed by Max Merritt Packard Auto Parts.

Hollis enjoyed mushroom hunting. He enjoyed going to the casino and the horse track. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. Hollis’ most enjoyment was spending time and spoiling his grandchildren.

Rev. Brandon Jolley will conduct a Celebration of Hollis’ life on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with Visitation on Thursday, May 4 from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post No. 105.
