Franklin College

Baseball finishes first in HCAC

A Saturday split at Earlham was enough to earn Franklin College a second straight HCAC regular-season championship, the first such repeat in school history. Luke Willmann had three RBIs in the second game, an 11-8 win, for the Grizzlies (28-10, 16-4).

Softball splits with Manchester

A 5-4 triumph in the nightcap allowed Franklin College to salvage a twinbill split against Manchester. Ravyn McClaren drove in a pair of runs in the victory for the Grizzlies (26-12, 9-5 HCAC).

Women’s lax falls in final

Franklin College’s first-ever appearance in the HCLC tournament championship game ended with a 21-4 loss to Transylvania. Jillian Schlieper, Lora Adkins, Mia Turnbaugh and Baleigh Riddle scored goals for the Grizzlies, who finish the season with a 9-6 record.

Trojans win in Bloomington

Center Grove’s White team posted a team score of 304 to win by four strokes in the Bloomington North Invitational at Cascades on Saturday. Medalist Brody Holubar led the Trojans with a 71, while Drew Hardin and Nate Horner shot 74 and 75, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Trojans’ Red team tied for eighth in the State Preview tourney at Prairie View, finishing with a 318.
