GREENWOOD
Larry W. Grubb, Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was 70 years old. Larry was born in Mills, KY to his parents Allen and Kathlene Grubb. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, class of 1970. Larry married his wife, Mashell, on May 12, 1972 and together they shared 51 years of marriage.
Larry worked as a Truck Driver for At&T and retired in 2009 after 38 years of service. Larry could be described as a loving and devoted man with a witty sense of humor. He was a lifelong lover of sports; as a young man, Larry competed in both softball and basketball. Larry watched and cheered for UK basketball religiously with his friends and family. He enjoyed spending his mornings with his coffee clubmates at Starbucks and later the Greenwood mall food court. Larry was very dedicated to his wife and daughter all throughout his life. The memories created will now be cherished by those he leaves behind.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mashell Grubb; his daughter, Brandi Grubb; his siblings, Allen (Debbie) Grubb, Phyllis (Kenny) Ward, Judy (Jim) Davis, Jackie Jaggers, and Mark Grubb; his several nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Turner.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Larry will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 12:00 pm.
