Spend the morning of Memorial Day running with more than 1,000 local residents before taking time to honor those who served. In what has become one of Johnson County’s most popular traditions, the Memorial Day Mile is a timed race broken in three divisions — a female run at 9 a.m., male run at 9:20 a.m. and family walk/run at 9:40 a.m.

Afterward your run, head over to the Johnson County courthouse lawn for the annual Memorial Day program. The entry fee is $12 for those 18 and over, and $6 for those under 18. Every participant gets a race shirt and medal. Sign up at runsignup.com/Race/IN/Franklin/AnnualMemorialDayMile
