Lana Sue Precup

TRAFALGAR AND FORMERLY OF LAMB LAKE

Lana Sue (Messick) Precup, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Homeview Health &Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar and former 30 year resident of Lamb Lake.

Lana was born February 27, 1944 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Walker and Kathleen (Yarling) Messick. She was a 1962 graduate of Highland High School in Anderson and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1966 from Indiana University. Since her sophomore year at IU, Lana has been an active member of the Alpha Phi Sorority.

Lana married the love of her life, Randall ‘Randy’ K. Precup on September 3, 1966 in Anderson and together they were blessed with two children, Shannon and Sean. Randy preceded her in death on October 31, 2020 after 54 devoted years of marriage.

She was the co-owner of “The Provential Rose Floral Design &Gifts” in Trafalgar, alongside her sister-in-law Connie. Lana was a talented floral designer and enjoyed working with stained glass. She was a breast cancer survivor and enjoyed spending time in nature with her husband, Randy and watching the birds. Most of all, Lana enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be missed by her daughter, Shannon (Ray) Poynter of Trafalgar, and son, Sean Precup of Danville; grandchildren, Andrew Poynter, Allyson (Shane) Abel, Evan Poynter; great grandchild Daylian Abel; twin brother, Todd (Connie) Messick of Morgantown and sister, Sharon (Charlie) Strecker of Indianapolis.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents and husband Randy Precup.

The Rev. Burt Brock conducted a graveside service on Saturday, June 3rd at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
