Clarence “June” Fearin

NEW WHITELAND

Clarence F. “June” Fearin passed away peacefully in his home, June 04, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy L. (Helphenstine) Fearin; his children James Fearin (Jeanna Guthrie), Darrell Fearin (Andrea), Greg Fearin (Deanne), and Tammi Fearin-Hickman (Steven); his grandchildren Micheal Fearin, Farin Hickman, Caitlyn (Hickman) Walls (Jacob), Shawn Fearin, and Sabrina Fearin; and his great-grandchildren, Quentin Fearin and Jackson Walls and another on the way.

June was the youngest and last remaining survivor of ten children born to the late Clarence H. and Etta May (Doyle) Fearin. He was born January 8, 1940 on his family’s tobacco farm in Beechburg, Kentucky. In 1970, he and Nancy moved their young family to Whiteland, Indiana. While he initially supported his family as a plumber, he found his true calling as an owner-operator, tractor-trailer driver. He amassed over 35 years of dedicated service with the former American Precast Concrete and current Coreslab Structures. There’s not a stadium, parking garage, and other like structures in central Indiana and the Midwest in general that doesn’t have his imprint on it. Upon his retirement, the company honored his years of service by renaming their street to Fearin Way.

While June was short in stature, he was tall in tales. He lent his skilled hands to countless in the community and was a member at Emmanuel Church of Greenwood, but currently attending GracePoint in New Whiteland. He will be missed dearly by his friends, family, and all of those for which he had a loving nickname.

His viewing will be held at Flinn &Maguire Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with a funeral service immediately after. June will then be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Johnson County CASA Program, 18 W. Jefferson Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
