Ida Elizabeth (Richards) Witt Kinslow

FRANKLIN, IN.

Ida Elizabeth (Richards) Witt Kinslow, 99 of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, surrounded by her daughters. Elizabeth was the sixth child born Charles and Mary (Taylor) Richards born October 1, 1923, in Dunnville, Kentucky.

As a child, she loved school, family, church, helping on the family farm and especially riding her horse.

After spotting a handsome boy across the room at a church pie supper, she told her friend he was the one she would marry. Indeed, after she graduated from high school at the age of 16, she became Mrs. Orville Witt.

They began their married life working toward war efforts in Cincinnati.

Elizabeth began her career with RCA in Indianapolis after the couple moved to Indiana with their two daughters.

Ten years after Orville died on July 31, 1966, she met and later married William “Bill” Kinslow on August 6, 1977, in New Palestine, IN. They retired early and enjoyed traveling from their Kentucky home to be with friends in Florida and family in Seattle. He preceded he in death on August 28, 2016, Elizabeth lived independently with the loving support of family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters Linda Mathena and her son in law Tom whom she considered to be the son she never had of Franklin, IN and Patty Taylor – Richards and her family all of the Seattle, WA area, her grandchildren Leslie Shearer, Lisa DeLapp, Todd Blunt (Colleen), and Christian Blunt, twelve great grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, a stepdaughter Nancy Hutton of Greenfield, IN, a step grandson Scott Keith Hutton (Angie) and their daughter Isla of Morning View, CA, and her beloved canine companion Mr. Syd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and siblings.

Private services are being held and being arranged by Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at 2PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2PM at www.swartzmortuary.com.

Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
