Darlene Ida Carver 83, died peacefully at her home on June 12, 2023. She was born in New Hampton IA. She met the love of her life Larry Carver in Washington D.C. while she was working for the FBI and he was stationed nearby in the Navy. She then moved to Indiana with her husband to raise her family. She is survived by her brother Roger (Kathleen) Rasing; her children, Damian Carver, Craig (Sandy) Carver, Mike (Sharon) Carver, Tim (Lisa) Carver and Cindy (Brian) Szymanski; her grandchildren who she loved dearly, Alicia Carver, Krista (Tyler) Rector, Kaylynn (Jordan) Carver, James (Dani) Carver, Kaleb Carver and her two great grandchildren, Lucas and Kertis. She loved to fish and was a charter member of the Indiana Bass’N Gals club. Darlene and her husband Larry owned and operated Carver’s Spinners; a hand-crafted fishing tackle business for over twenty years.

She was welcomed home by her loving husband Larry Carver; parents, Henry and Elizabeth Rasing; brothers, Edwin, Leo, FR. Linus, and sister Alverna.

A single red rose was her favorite flower and demonstrated the love between individuals. Donations in her memory can be made to the Indiana Bass’N Gals C/o Sandra Lugo, Treasurer 2533 Whitehall Dr. Lafayette IN 47909

A visitation will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood 46142 on Thursday, June 22 from 4-8:00 pm. Funeral mass will be Friday, June 23 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to mass at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Darlene will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.
