Long distance bus travel comes to Johnson County

Cleveland, Ohio-based company Barons Bus Lines will bring long-distance bus travel to Johnson County, with stops in Greenwood and Franklin.

The Greenwood stop is located at GetGo Café + Market at 2132 U.S. 31 S. near Worthsville Road, while the Franklin stop is located at the Circle K gas station at 2105 E. King St., just west of the city’s Interstate 65 interchange. The bus stops are part of the Indianapolis to Cincinnati route, which also includes stops in Columbus, Greensburg and St. Leon. Tickets on the route range from $6 to $28, according to a news release from Barons Bus Lines.

Barons Bus connects with Greyhound and other bus lines to service more than 3,000 locations across the United States. Barons Bus vehicles are ADA accessible and include free Wi-Fi and reclining seats with power outlets. The company has Far UV Lighting on each bus, which kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria, according to the release.

The bus company, which has been around for over three decades, received METRO Magazine’s Motorcoach Operator of the Year award in 2019 and was voted Business Travelers’ Favorite in Wanderu’s Passengers’ Choice Awards each of the past two years, the release said.
