Flags directed to be flown at half-staff for Trooper Smith

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has directed flags to be flown at half-staff Friday in honor of fallen Indiana State Trooper Aaron N. Smith.

Flags should be flown at half-staff throughout the state from sunrise to sunset on Friday in honor and remembrance of Smith, who was killed in the line of duty last week. Holcomb is asking businesses and residents in Indiana to lower their flags to half-staff as well.

Smith’s funeral is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Church in Greenwood. A procession from Greenwood to Indianapolis will follow, with Smith being buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
